Homosexual minority and spatial segregation in romantic discourse "The cahier rouge" by Michel Tremblay: For an approach to urban sociolinguistics

Abstract

In this contribution, we attempt to study linguistic practices of homosexual minority in the territory of Montreal town. The objectives proposed in this article point out and demonstrate spatio-linguistic segregation suffered by this community in the fictional speech of Michel Tremblay, Quebecker author engaged for social recognition of homosexual minority and the impact of segregation on gay identity.
