The feminine and masculine speech: from biological particularities to sociocultural training
Keywords:
Sociolinguistic variation, gender, language practicesAbstract
The linguistic variation resulting from the language/sex ratio is no longer to be demonstrated. It is known that men and women most often share the same language but do not exhibit the same language practices. In sociolinguistics, studies that focus on these phenomena fall within the framework of what are called 'gender studies' or 'gendered approach'. Indeed, the differences noted between the two dialects are certainly biological (voice, flow, tone) but others are purely sociocultural.
