Abstract

The anxiety not to know where one comes from or where one heads for, is
what characterizes Maïssa Beyřs writings. The latter refer to female
characters who are in quest of a liberating word which will free them from
identity crisis (cultural, geographical and linguistic). This quest is revealed
through the theme of wandering.
The purpose of the following article is to demonstrate how this thematic
which studies texts with scrutiny, becomes the driving force of a writing
