Calixthe’s writing of the in-between Beyala: the hybrid and the ideology
Keywords:
Beyala, hybridity, identity, ideology, creolization, innovation, subversionAbstract
Calixthe Beyala's writing is polymorphous as it comes from several languages, but mainly from his mother tongue (Eton)
and French. Therefore, the hybridity of his writing reflects this double belonging. In fact, his ideological scope is to be
questioned when studying his writing between the two languages. In addition to that, the examination of his historical
and social references makes it possible to understand how this hybridity could function as a means of claiming and
restructuring the violated African identity
