A writing between two languages Constraints and challenges of the in-between at Malek Haddad

Algerian French-speaking literature has emerged in a context marked by a
dominant colonial system and had immediately be faced with the problem of
bilingual writing insofar as it consists of the original language of the Algerian
writer (Arabic, Berber) and the language of literary expression: French.
Malek. Haddad is an Algerian writer who lived so painfully this dichotomy
(the drama of language, he said) that he thought to stop writing and to retire
in silence. However, he did not hesitate in spite of intellectual and linguistic
dilemma speak the other's language to talk about the same and represent the
historical condition of the latter.
But if Malek Haddad uses French as the language of artistic expression , the
fact remains that the Arabic language is present implicitly in haddadien text
through the imagination and poetic this writer where bilingualism reflecting
an ontological difficult quest.
My research work will focus on this duality and this cultural difference which
was expressed by the author himself in the Zeros circling. It aims to identify
the mechanisms of this bilingual writing and study some of the processes
used by stylistiques Malek Haddad in his four novels. Finally, my research
will try to reveal the issues of this write between the two.
