Abstract

The works of Malika MOKEDDEM, an Algerian Francophone woman novelist,
feature all the characteristics of postcolonial French-speaking literature. A
targeted reading, based on key points, and a focused attention allow us to
highlight the Ŗin-betweennessŗ (Ŗbetween twoŗ) of her writing: bilingualism
and biculturalism leading to miscegenation and hybridity. Granted that the
Ŗin-betweennessŗ (Ŗbetween twoŗ) reveals the identity of the writing subject,
we will check if it leads Ŕeven outside the native countryŔ to an identity
conflict or if it allows the emergence of a multiple identity at the heart of a
