Borders and limits as the very places of the in-between and the gap
Keywords:
In-betweenness, bilingualism, frontier, Beckett, Luca, Boyle, Fuentes, BlanchotAbstract
In- between might be, not on one side or on the other, but on both sides. The article illustrates and vindicates this proposition
through three examples: bilingualism (Beckett, G. Luca), the American-Mexican border (Boyle, Fuentes), the limits of the
Self and the body (Blanchot, Woolf). It concludes with the idea that this in-between, so difficult to take in, may actually be an
indefinable concept, in the literal sense.
