About the Journal

The journal SOCLES (Society and Languages) ISSN: 2335-1144 EISSN: 2588-2023, idexed in the ERIH Plus is an open-access annual publication starting from issue No. 8 published in 2016 after having published semi-annual issues from 2012 to 2016. It aims to reflect research, favoring interdisciplinarity. It is published in French and English by the Laboratory of Linguistics and Sociodidactics of Plurilingualism (LISODIP) of the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Bouzaréah (ENSB). Its objective is to analyse discourses produced in plurilingual situations and to reflect on the impact of plurilingualism on different situations of discursive production. The works published in Socles span various fields in sociolinguistics, sociodidactics, university pedagogy and literature in plurilingual contexts. Despite the diversity of issues, contexts, and corpora, these researches all focus on situations of language plurality, varieties, and usage, their modes of contact, and the representations produced, both in socio-professional and school contexts as well as in literary contexts. They bring together contextualized data and question the epistemological and theoretical stakes induced by the modelizing transferability of certain concepts and approaches in which French is in contact with other languages. Socles welcomes original works and opens up to national and international issues regarding linguistic plurality.
